Fraud Activity Alert

Integrity FCU has been getting increasing reports of Fraud Scams in the area.

Below are some tips to follow to avoid being a victim of scams:

  • Avoid giving ANY of your personal or account information out; most vendors will not ask for your Social Security number or date of birth

  • Do NOT allow anyone to access your devices with remote access

  • Do NOT open or respond to emails or text messages if you do not know who they are from

  • Legitimate vendors WILL NOT ask you to purchase gift cards to be mailed to them for payment

  • Be aware if someone appearing to be someone you know asks you for money via social media; call the person directly to ensure that it is really them

  • Be aware that fraudsters love to play on your emotions and are VERY SKILLED in what they do

  • Be aware that fraudsters will try to rush you into decisions by adding an “urgent” element to their requests
